The laboratory plays in very important role in Healthcare. nearly 70% of all medical decisions are based on Laboratory results.The laboratory also plays very important role in education,research,quality improvement and information technology designs.
When a person is ill, diagnosis beings with a physical examination by a doctor. it may not be possible to diagnose a disease only on the basis of of physical examination. there are various Diagnostic test to confirm a suspected diagnosis. the Pathology Laboratory test are extremely useful to find out the causes of a disease. many life threatening diseases are curable if diagnosed at the early stage and it is possible on the basis of reliable Pathology Laboratory test.

The clinical laboratory personnel must understand the basic principles and procedures that affect the analytical procedure and operations of the laboratory to reliably perform analysis on specimen. these include the knowledge of important terms related to clinical pathology, basis laboratory structure, the glassware and plastic ware ,solvents ,Chemicals, Regents ,reference materials, equipments ,instruments ,basic techniques, units of measurement,safety and waste management.
